Founded in April 2004, the International Academy of Film and Television is Asia's Premier Film School. Located on the island of Mactan in Cebu, Philippines, this seaside campus offers the latest resources in film production technology, including a sound stage, a shooting stage, a shooting tank and state-of-the-art post production facilities.

The school has a specialized curriculum that combines theory with practical application under the mentorship of leading industry professionals. In addition to its finely tuned programs in filmmaking (Certificate, Diploma and the CRAZY FILMMAKER PROGRAM) and the Performing Arts, the IAFT also conducts various Short-Term Workshops on topics that range from animation, editing and acting.

Through its parent company, Bigfoot Entertainment, and affiliates like FashionTV, the IAFT presents selected students with unique internship opportunities to apply their newly-acquired skills to actual feature film and television productions, cultivating the highest creative standards in the next generation of filmmakers.

CEBU: A FILMMAKER'S PARADISE
When the cameras stop rolling after classes and during the weekends, IAFT students can take advantage of the diverse activities Cebu has to offer. Dubbed as the Queen City of the South, Cebu has a rich tapestry of cultural and social attractions; along with its lush island backdrop - with everything from white-sand beaches to striking mountainous regions, Cebu truly is a paradise all its own.

The city itself brims with a colorful history as the oldest township established in the Philippines, where Magellan landed on that fateful night in April of 1521 and planted his famous cross. History buffs will undoubtedly want to explore the city's museums and monuments such as the quaint Santo Niño Basilica and Museum off Osmeña Avenue, built in 1565 to house the likeness of the infant Jesus.

Those in search of relaxation and rest will breathe a sigh of relief at Cebu's five-star resorts and scenic beaches near such top tourist destinations as the Shangri-La Resort & Spa. Surrounding Cebu are some of the world's best diving spots, including Mactan Island, just a short ride over the bridge from the city and famous for its renowned coral reefs.

One of the most famous festivals in the Philippines, the Sinulog Festival remains one of the raucous celebrations of Filipino culture and tradition. Celebrated in late January, this festival is renowned for its wild and colorful parades. Much like New Orleans ' Mardi Gras but with a flavor all its own, you will find people dancing in the streets and partying hard.

And once the sun sets, visitors will discover Cebu's nightlife to be as eclectic as the island itself, with international cuisine from all corners of the globe, and nightclubs pumping music late into the evenings. Whether studying hard or taking it easy, Cebu is the ideal location for those searching for a unique educational experience.
