IAFT alumni wins award at World Fest
The International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) is proud to congratulate IAFT-alumni Steve Flor on his success at the WorldFest Houston Film Festival, which was held from 9th to 28 April 2010 in Houston, Texas.
Flor's three-minute short film 'Breakfast with Lolo (Grandpa)' won the judges over with its simplicity and its moving story on family values and the inseparable bond between a diabetes-stricken grandfather and his grandson. Concise and smooth storytelling, the clip garnered a Platinum Remi Award at North America's third-oldest international film festival and one of the most historic film festivals of the world.
Earlier in February, the very same short film was also awarded the Jury Selection Award under the Narrative category at the 180 Microcinema Online Festival, a nationwide online film competition hosted by the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
