KACY ANDREWS

Chief Executive Officer, International Academy of Film & Television

Kacy Andrews has been actively involved in the entertainment industry for more than 20 years. Her diverse resume includes feature films, television series, theater, and animation. She has worked throughout the world, and was recently profiled in PEOPLE ASIA Magazine's 2006 People of the Year issue.

Kacy spent nine years in production and project development at Los Angeles-based Hyperion Studio. This includes work as one of the Producers on Miramax's Playing By Heart (Sean Connery, Gena Rowlands and Angelina Jolie). Kacy's portfolio at Hyperion also includes the feature film Tom's Midnight Garden (Joan Plowright); BoneChillers, a children's television series for ABC (Linda Cardellini); and numerous animated projects such as FOX's Life With Louie (Louie Anderson); HBO's Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child (Denzel Washington, Whoopi Goldberg); and Paramount Pictures' The Oz Kids (Jonathan Taylor Thomas).

Moving from Hyperion, Kacy had a stint as Vice President of Development at Blue Focus Management where she worked on developing projects for MGM, Disney and Sony. She then dabbled in the dotcom and software arena at Creative Planet and Entertainment Partners.

JIM YORK

Chief Operating Officer, International Academy of Film & Television

Jim York is the Founder and Director of the Palm Beach and Miami Film Schools. The educational objective of the Palm Beach and Miami Film Schools is to teach students of all ages how to write, shoot, direct and edit their own short, character-driven comedy, drama or horror film. He created this film school concept to enable students from all backgrounds the opportunity to learn how to take a creative film idea from a concept to reality and actually make a film at an affordable tuition.  Jim has been the Executive Producer of over 400 student films of which over fifty have won achievement awards at various film festivals. Jim’s strengths include helping graduates with internships and securing entry-level employment positions in the film and video production industry. 

Jim is an industry professional with 25 plus years of top level school management experience which includes working as Executive Director of the Connecticut Schools of Broadcasting, National Admissions Director for the Columbia Schools of Broadcasting, and franchise owner and founder of the CSB/Boston School.

Jim graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a degree in Education and did post-graduate work in Corporate and Political Communications at Fairfield University.

 
 

TIMM DOOLEN

Executive Director of Programs, International Academy of Film and Television

Timm Doolen is currently the Executive Director of Programs at the International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) and the Director of Creative Development at Bigfoot Entertainment. He started his production career ten years ago making low-budget documentaries, including the award-winning Explaining From The Inside, which analyzed the media coverage of the 1999 Texas A&M University bonfire tragedy that killed twelve students.

In 2003, he assisted producer Bob Cooper at the newly formed Landscape Entertainment and helped work on Sleepover and Mr. Woodcock. Timm then assumed casting director and production coordinator duties on the low-budget feature Think Tank. He has also directed, produced, written and cast several short films, including The Man With No Eyes, which premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel.
